Neither a lender nor a borrower be--from Hamlet by William Shakespeare

Nanowrimo and other adventures

National Novel Writing Month has been very, very good to me. Last year I wrote an eerie supernatural tale that took over my life and led to me haunting a stretch of Bishopville Road for a good part of the winter.
I also met a number of the Maryland Nanowrimo crowd through Facebook and email. The encouragement was energizing.
This year, The Portia Journal rewrote itself with very little effort. Once I revamped the plot line to focus on the recovery of one of my  characters--Paul Faulding, the movement back and forth between the journal and the third person narrative flowed. Paul is still shell-shocked, grouchy and manipulative but kind to the core.
